IDG takes on Paço do Frevo again from January 15th

Paço do Frevo - Recife-PE.

Institute for Development and Management (IDG) is back to Paço do Frevo, starting on January 15th. The organization managed the cultural center from 2013 to 2018 and now has won the selection process conducted by Cultural Foundation of the City of Recife (FCCR), signing an agreement for two more years of administration (2019 - 2021).

With a visitation rate that goes from 10 to 15 thousand a month, Paço is one of the most sought-after cultural centers in Recife, both by tourists and residents, since it was open. In 2018, it reached the mark of 500 thousand visitors. This new phase of IDG's work will be dedicated to consolidating the many positive results achieved so far.

"For us here at IDG, to have Paço running at full steam is a way to fulfill our mission of encouraging art and culture as fundamental instruments for developing our society. Our work is always about cooperating in order to value the public interest, and Paço is an essential asset for the city of Recife", analyzes Ricardo Piquet, president of IDG.

Paço do Frevo is a reference cultural center that develops actions, projects and activities aiming the valorization, documentation, protection, transmission and safeguarding of Frevo, the musical rhythm/dance that is one of the main icons of the Pernambuco identity, having been recognized by the Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) as Brazilian cultural and immaterial patrimony.
