Jazz and frevo are mixed in the Paço do Frevo

On one side Jazz. On the other Frevo. What do the rhythms from Pernambuco and North American music have in common?

The projects managed by The IDG aim at unifying different institutions and partners so as to create connections and encounters that foster the strengthening of citizenship, sense of belonging and identity with regards to diversity and the valorization of culture.

Therefore, owing to a partnership with the United States General Consulate in Recife, the Paço do Frevo, managed by the IDG – Institute for Development and Management established a musical exchange between the renowned North American pianist Phil DeGreg and the Brazilian violinist and guitarist Bruno Mangueira, with various activities including a concert and a workshop,  fusing together a mix of rhythms with the aim of exchanging experiences and understanding possible historical similarities between these two musical genres.
