"Open Code Art" is the new exhibition at the Museum of Tomorrow

To celebrate the holidays and the beginning of the year, the Museum of Tomorrow will have a schedule featuring two exhibitions and various activities from the "Play is Science" project throughout January. On January 9th, the individual work of the artist-programmer Vamoss, titled "Open Code Art," will be inaugurated. At the end of the month, on January 30th, the museum will host the exhibition "Feeling World - An Immersive Journey," a sensory experience that will take the audience on a journey through forests, soil, and the lives of animals.

The "Open Code Art" exhibition, which will take place in the Laboratory of Tomorrow Activities - LAA, presented by Santander, is an opportunity for the public to understand and see up close how programs operate that influence society's daily life in essential areas such as hospital machinery, schools, cell phones, and social networks, for example. The work is signed by Vamoss, an artist-programmer who uses code as raw material to create generative art projects. A Ph.D. candidate in Visual Arts at PPGAV-UFRJ, with a background in Design and a master's degree in Creative Economy from ESPM-Rio, the artist is the technology director at SuperUber (a producer focused on interactive experiences in art, technology, architecture, and design) and has contributed to museum projects worldwide since 2011.

Starting from January 30th, the Museum of Tomorrow will host the exhibition "Feeling World - An Immersive Journey," which stimulates the senses of the public to bring them closer to the perspective that other species have of the environment they inhabit. Conceived and developed by the Sensory Odyssey Studio, the project takes visitors on a tour of three thematic areas: the visible part of the forest, inside the soil, and the dance of insects through informative panels, characteristic sounds, smells, and an entomological collection (scientific collection formed by insects). The exhibition is a reduced version of Sensory Odyssey, which premiered in Paris in partnership with the National Museum of Natural History and was exhibited in Singapore.

The "Play is Science" project, presented by ArcelorMittal, has a confirmed schedule for every Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday in January. On January 9th, there will be a workshop to honor Astronaut Day, building spacecraft and learning about the profession. The first weekend of the month features a collage workshop and portable hologram workshop on Saturday, January 13th, and a playful workshop with music for children aged 3 to 6 and a storytelling circle on Sunday, January 14th.
