MUSEUM OF TOMORROW SIGNS A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED NATIONS PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENT (PNUD) BRAZIL
On June 26 th , Ricardo Piquet, the chair-man of the Museum of Tomorrow, hosted Niky Fabiancic, the resident-coordinator of the United Nations System in Brazil and the resident-representative of the United Nations Program for Development (PNUD) and the coordinators of the Centro Rio+/PNUD to sign the cooperation agreement with the United Nations Program for Development (PNUD) Brazil. The aim is to establish a partnership for the execution of actions that foster and announce the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), on-going themes at the Museum of Tomorrow.
Since its opening in 2015, the Museum of Tomorrow’s agenda has been focused on themes related to the SDG, such as seminars and actions with refugees in partnership with the UNHCHR (The United Nations High Commissioning of for Refugees); activities regarding gender, in partnership with UN-Women; besides seminars in partnership with UN-Environment about the 25th anniversary of ECO92, a conference when the Millennium goals were set, replaced by the SDG in the Rio + 20. In 2018, the Museum of Tomorrow will reinforce this debate and the themes of water and food supply will be the core themes of the program.
