PAÇO DO FREVO REACHES HALF A MILLION VISITORS
After four years since it first opened, on this Tuesday, September 18 th , the Paço do Frevo, located in Recife Antigo, managed by the IDG – Institute for Development and Management reached the impressive mark of 500 thousand visitors.
The student Karla Oliveira, of 26 years, was awarded with various gifts such as a Paço do Frevo kit and refreshment vouchers, besides a free one year admission pass to the cultural center.
Karla was hosted by Eduardo Sarmento, the General Manager of the Paço do Frevo, Regina Gaudêncio, the president of the IDG Board of Administration IDG, and Diego Rocha, the president of the Recife Culture Foundation.
Paço do Frevo
The Paço do Frevo was inaugurated in February 2014, it counts on a digital and physical archive with over 450 titles. Besides that, the space is regarded as a Reference in Representation, Actions, Projects, Actions and Safe-Guard – accredited by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) – with projects, actions and arts activities that highlight local culture.
The encouragement to research and creative innovation also raise actions promoted by the O Paço, including involvement from the Maestro Guerra-Peixe Document and Memory Centre, a centre for study, research, production and storage of documents related to the frevo historical, anthropological, social, cultural and political universe.
