PAÇO DO FREVO ON GOOGLE ARTS AND CULTURE
Paço do Frevo, located in the historical center of Recife, can now be visited from anywhere in the world. The museum is part of the Google Arts & Culture platform, with five exhibitions about the musical genre and a virtual tour.
Through Museum View, you can explore the floors of the museum through 360º photos. The exhibits bring together 69 items representative of the history of Frevo and combine unpublished photos, texts, interviews and videos.
On the platform, the trajectory of Frevo is told from its origins, including the associations that made history in the Recife carnival and the differences between the types of Frevo. Classics of the genre are presented by various artists, such as Claudionor Germano.
In an interactive proposal, it is possible to listen separately to each instrument of an orchestra commanded by bandmaster Spok. There is also a dance tutorial teaching the basic steps of Frevo.
More than a thousand institutions from all over the world – such as the Louvre Museum and the Guggenheim – participate in Google Arts & Culture. Paço do Frevo will be the first Northeast Brazilian museum on the platform.
The content was developed by the Roberto Marinho Foundation in collaboration with IDG, the social organization responsible for the management of Paço do Frevo.
